Needed to avert December 12 shutdown.
A deal between Senate Appropriations Chairman Richard Shelby of Alabama and House Appropriations Chairwoman Nita Lowey of New York seems on the horizon, according to aides from both camps. A spending bill is needed to keep the government open after current funding runs out December 11.
The agreement encompasses top-line amounts for all twelve parts of an omnibus appropriations package as well as the level for emergency spending above the $1.4 trillion budget cap set into law in 2019.
The government has been operating under a stop-gap continuing resolution since the fiscal year began on October 1.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For lawmakers as they convene to approve the spending bill needed to keep the government open.
- For those deciding to exclude things like a coronavirus stimulus package.
- For legislators determining government spending levels and the increases in the national debt during the pandemic.
